Get to Know Dr. Mark Smith
Dr. Mark has been practicing in Sherman for almost 30 years, and he says that the best thing about his job is having the opportunity to get people out of pain and ensure they stay healthy. He’s thrilled that he now gets to work alongside his son, Dr. Grant, as well as Dr. Sumpter, and he can’t wait for you to experience the dental office for yourself. Why Did You Decide to Become a Dentist?
Dr. Mark’s dad was a dental lab technician, so he grew up surrounded by all things dental. He ultimately chose to become a dentist because he enjoys helping people and saw that practicing dentistry would allow him to meet and form strong relationships with each of his patients.
Where Did You Study Dentistry?
Dr. Mark attended Grayson County College before going on to earn his dental degree from the Baylor College of Dentistry. Always striving to stay on the cutting edge of dentistry, he is also a member of the American Dental Association and Texas Dental Association.
Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?
When he isn’t spending time with his five wonderful sons, Dr. Mark loves to be outdoors. He is an avid waterfowl hunter and fisherman, and he also likes to simply mow at home or on his farm. He enjoys traveling as well and is always planning his next trip.
